Senior property tax relief, and MO Tax Relief Now
hit the headlines and airwaves in a big way
The senior property tax freeze was the biggest news story in Missouri for two years after it became law, August 28, 2023. Metro dailies, TV stations, radio talk shows and community newspapers all carried stories about the property tax freeze. It was so popular, we could hardly keep up with our news interviews and radio broadcasts. People were contacting us from across the state telling us that we were being quoted and cited. I wish we had kept track, but we couldn't. Just did a simple internet search and you'll see what we mean. Although we couldn't keep track of the stories, we did keep a list of some which are posted below. We aren't able to collect all of the stories that appeared around the state, but below is a sampling of articles people have sent us. Please read, listen and view them to see what was said about MO Tax Relief Now and the senior property tax freeze.
We believe the Zero Income Tax bill will become an even bigger story locally, statewide and nationally.
When passing your petition, it's important to get your local news media to cover the story because many seniors still don't know about the senior property tax freeze in the most rural counties. You can certainly believe county officers don’t want to tell seniors they can freeze their property taxes. When a Springfield radio station covered a story about a MO Tax Relief Now teammate, Richard Rice, trying to get Christian County to adopt the tax freeze, over 100 seniors showed up at the County Council meeting to support the ordinance. Christian County has implemented the property tax freeze without a petition.
If you want to get support for property tax relief in your county, you must get the story covered by your local news to tell people about it. We're happy to help you, but each county needs a leader to step forward. Reach out if you would like some consultation. We’re happy to help your county. Please forward any articles or TV or radio recordings you may find.
